There's a lot to learn when carving new pathways in  your brain, and working on a complete paradigm shift. Working with a professional may be one helpful resource. But you can also continue to stay grounded in the messages of Intuitive Eating, Health At Every Size, and body autonomy in between sessions with your treating provider. Scroll down to see my book and podcast recommendations.

People We Follow

A great way to detox your life of harmful diet culture messages is to start with the images we put into our own field of vision. Start by unfollowing anyone who glorifies dieting or one particular body type (i.e. the "thin ideal"). Then start following people whose posts will inspire you to stay the course, even when it gets challenging. In no particular order, here are some amazing folks I follow on Instagram:

  • @samthedietitian (that's me!)

  • @beyondmeasuresfbay

  • @chr1styharrison

  • @allgendernutrition

  • @with_this_body

  • @bodyposipanda

  • @virgietovar

  • @hgoodrichrd

  • @katesyogini

  • @thebodylovesociety

  • @antidietriotclub

  • @bostanley

  • @fabulousfattyk

  • @rebeccascritchfield

... we could honestly go on forever. But we hope this is enough to get you started!
